William Hernandez

Principal, President, Senior Consultant. Requejo Consulting, Inc.

William Hernández is president and a senior consultant of Requejo Consulting, Inc., a California corporation specializing in the area of international management consulting, international business development, international negotiations and organizational development.  He has worked over the past eighteen years with multinational corporations, including, Boeing, Conexant, Fluor Daniel, Banco Popular, Wal-Mart, Dupont, MicroAge International, McDonnell Douglas, Deutsche Bank, Banco Santander, BBVA and others on a wide variety of projects ranging from highly sensitive international transactional negotiations to multi-billion dollar energy projects on three continents.  Requejo Consulting also assists companies expand internationally by designing and implementing a turnkey international division. Mr. Hernandez’s specific areas of expertise include strategic alliances, joint ventures, international team development and overall international expansion strategy. 

Mr. Hernández also teaches at the University of California, Irvine in the Graduate School of Management, Chapman University,  George L. Argyros School of Business and Economics,  Whittier Law School, and Cal State University Fullerton where he teaches Advanced Negotiations, International Business Negotiations, International Expansion, and International Marketing.   Mr. Hernandez also was the founding Director of the Asturias Business School, in Asturias, Spain.  A joint venture between the Spanish government and California State University, San Francisco whereby a degree from ABS was recognized in the US and Europe.

Mr. Hernández has a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center, in Washington D.C., a Masters Degree in Spanish and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine.  Mr. Hernández Requejo is fluent in English and Spanish, with a working knowledge of French, Italian, & Portuguese and has traveled extensively throughout the world. 

Mr. Hernández is on the Board of Directors of various international and charitable organizations, including the International Business and Protocol Foundation, the International Committee of the American Electronics Association, the International Trade Advisory Board, International Committee of the Irvine Chamber of Commerce and others.  He has led various business and trade delegations from California and abroad, including China, Singapore, Korea, Japan, Spain, France, England, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil.  These have resulted in current ongoing business relations.

Mr. Hernández is also in the process of writing a reference/textbook tentatively titled  “Global Negotiations – A Business Approach”.  Soon to be published by St. Martin Press, part of the Palgrave Mcmillan publication group.

Ken August,

Principal, Senior Legal Consultant. Requejo Consulting, Inc.

Mr. August was born in Killeen, Texas in 1961, and has lived in New York, Washington, D.C. and California. In 1983 he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Affairs from the American University School of International Service, Washington, D.C., with special emphasis on US foreign relations with Latin America. He received his law degree from The Washington College of Law, The American University, in 1987.  Mr. August is currently licensed to practice law in the States of California and Virginia, and in the District of Columbia.  Mr. August began his legal career with the firm of Lane & Edson, P.C., where he was part of the team that represented former U.S. Treasury Secretary William Simon's investment banking firm, WESRAY Corporation, in a variety of public and private financial transactions, management buy-outs and related corporate activity.  Mr. August has also worked with the firm Dow, Lohnes & Albertson (where he represented a number of telecommunications companies, investment banking firms and commercial banks in a variety of corporate, commercial and financial transactions), and Graham & James (specializing in mergers & acquisitions, securities and joint venture transactions for the firm's international clientele).  He left large law firm practice in October 1992 to focus on the representation of emerging and mid-sized corporate clients and, in February 1998, merged his transactional practice with two other practices to form Feldhake, August & Roquemore LLP, a full-service business law firm.  In April 2004, Mr. August left Feldhake, August & Roquemore LLP to form August Law Group, P.C., a stand-alone “boutique” practice focusing on the special needs of small to mid-cap clients engaged in high-level financial and corporate transactions, with special emphasis on micro- and small-cap public companies, as well as those clients engaging in international business and finance.  He continues to retain an excellent relationship with Feldhake Roquemore LLP, and ALG serves as Of Counsel to that law firm to provide assistance on corporate and transactional matters.

During his career, Mr. August has participated as legal counsel in transactions having an aggregate value of more than $2.5 Billion dollars. He has been appointed an Adjunct Professor both at Whittier Law School, teaching in the area of corporations and securities law, and for the University of California at Irvine Graduate School of Management on general legal issues impacting business professionals.  He has lectured extensively in the areas of international business and financial transactional law, and was a contributing author on international mergers and acquisitions in the book The Art of M&A, published by Dow Jones-Irwin in 1987.  Mr. August was a Founding Member of the College of Fellows of the Centre for International Legal Studies, headquartered in Kitzbühl, Austria, and has served as a Director for the Singapore American Business Association (Southern California), the International Foundation for the Advancement and Support of Technology, as a Director and Past President of the Orange County International Business and Protocol Foundation, and as Chairman of the California International Business Advisory Board, Rancho Santiago Community College District.   He is fluent in English, French and Spanish, and has a working knowledge of German, Italian, Portuguese and Russian.

Ivan Ho

Consultant,

Mr. Ho has 9 years of experience in business development between U.S. and Asia.  As a former director of the Singapore American Business Association (Southern California), Mr. Ho organized and led the first trade mission to help U.S. media technology companies raise capital and establish strategic partnerships with Asian companies via Singapore.  He led education portal Inswers.com secure venture funding at a favorable valuation from a group comprising of the Singapore Government and former head of Compaq Asia.  Later, as Chief Operating Officer of the company, he established and managed an international operation with offices in Los Angeles and Singapore.

Mr. Ho's industry expertise spans Real Estate, Internet, Education, Manufacturing, Service, Media & Entertainment.  As an advisor to U.S. companies on Cross-Cultural Marketing, Cross-Border Investment, and Global Strategic Management.  As a Consultant for Requejo Consulting, Inc., Mr. Ho is actively involved in helping clients develop and implement strategies to enter foreign markets.  He has lived in Europe, Asia and North America, and speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese.  A graduate from the University of Southern California and Centro de Cultura Scientifica in Italy, Mr. Ho also holds an International M.B.A. degree from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Brian Gross

As Consultant with Requejo, Mr. Gross’ practice emphasizes strategic consulting in the fields of economic development and urban/real estate planning.  Mr. Gross’ strategic consulting assignments include a wide range of feasibility studies and performance assessments, ranging from the evaluation of the World Bank’s Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) initiative in Uganda to the assessment of redevelopment practice and performance of the City of Long Beach Redevelopment Agency.  Notable feasibility studies include the analysis of land reuse strategies for a closed military base; and creation of a new real estate program at a major research university.

Prior to joining Requejo Consulting, Mr. Gross cultivated a broad base of professional and educational experience throughout the real estate industry.  While obtaining masters degrees in both Business Administration and Urban Planning, Mr. Gross held internship positions at the City of Culver City Redevelopment Agency, The Program in Real Estate Management at the University of California Irvine.
